Les Trois Canards
Les Trois Canards are an enthusiastic oboe trio formed from three recent graduates of the MMus course at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Laura Cosgrove, Beatrice Hubble and Kirsten King founded the trio in September 2009 and have been playing and studying together ever since.
Recent successes have included reaching the final of the RNCM Woodwind Chamber Music Prize in 2010 and 2011 as well as participation in several master classes in both Manchester and London.
In March 2010 they performed a recital programme as part of the Monday Lunchtime concert series at the RNCM.
All three also perform as soloists and orchestral players.
They have been involved with various orchestras including RNCM Orchestras, the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland and the Symphony Orchestras of Manchester University and Leeds University.
Les Trois Canards enjoy playing a wide range of music from Baroque to contemporary, as well as discovering some of the lesser known works written for oboe trio.
They are thrilled at being awarded the June Emerson Launchpad Prize in 2011 and hope that this will enable them to continue to establish themselves as a young and exciting chamber ensemble.
